Corn Peas Pulao |
This is what you need:
1 cup Basmati Rice
1 cup Corn
1 cup Peas
2 cups Milk
2 medium size Onions sliced
1 medium size Tomato sliced
2-3 Green chillies slit
2 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
1 tbsp Red chilly powder
2 tbsp Pepper powder
Salt as reqd.
2 tbsp Lemon juice
For seasoning:
1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Oil
1 inch Cinnamon
2 Cardamon pods
2 Cloves
1 Bay leaf
1 tbsp Cumin seeds
This is what you do:
- Soak the rice for 30 minutes
- Heat butter and oil in a pan
- Once butter melts, add all the ingredients under seasoning
- Add the sliced onions and saute till transparent
- Now add the ginger garlic paste and green chillies and saute till the raw smell disappears
- Add the corn and peas and mix it well
- Add the sliced tomatoes and saute till tomatoes are tender
- Add Red chilly powder for flavor. (optional)
- Now add 2 cups of milk
- Add Pepper and required salt. (The water in the pulao should be salty, that indicates the right amount of salt)
- Add the basmati rice
- Squeeze 3-4 drops of lemon juice
- Close the lid and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or till the rice is done.
- Serve with raita.
