Palak Rice |
This is what you need:
1 cup Basmati rice
1 cup Palak or Spinach
2 medium size Onions sliced
1 Tomato sliced
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
4-5 Green chillies
1 tbsp Ghee
1 tbsp Oil
2 tbsp cumin seeds
2 cups Milk.
This is what you do:
- Soak the rice for 30 minutes and drain the water
- Blanch the Palak in boiling water and drain the water
- Grind the Palak and green chillies to a smooth paste
- Heat the ghee and oil in a pan
- Add the cumin seeds
- Once they splutter, add the sliced onions and saute till transparent
- Add the ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell disappears
- Add the tomatoes and saute till mushy
- Add the Palak puree and mix well
- Now add the milk and required salt
- Add the rice and let it simmer covered for 15-20 minutes
- Serve with Raita
