Sometimes all we need is a easy to toss up kinda food that is also appetising. Pulaos are one such kind. Quick to make, yet look satisfying when we indulge in it. Here I wanted a richer version of a pulao and a cross between ghee rice or nei choru and pulao and choose to make this Matar Pulao fully in Ghee with no oil!
Ghee Matar/Peas Pulao:
What You Need:
2 Tbsp Ghee
1 Onion Sliced
1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Clove
1 Cardamom
1 Small Bay Leaf
1 Small Piece Cinnamon
1 Cup Basmati Rice Soaked
1 Cup Peas
2 Cups Water
2 Tsp Lemon Juice
Salt To Taste
What You Do:

What You Need:

1 Tsp Cumin Seeds

1 Cup Peas
2 Cups Water
2 Tsp Lemon Juice
Salt To Taste
What You Do:
- Heat the ghee in a kadai and add the onions and saute till the brown and remove and keep aside.
- In the same pan add the cumin seeds, clove, cardamom, bay lead, cinnamon and saute.
- Add the basmati rice and saute it well.
- Add the peas and the caramelised onions.
- Add water, lemon juice and salt and simmer closed for 15-20 minutes till the rice is cooked.
- Gently fluff the rice and serve it with a gravy of choice or raita!
