Easy Mushroom Masala

There is a lot you can make with mushroom- pepper fry, spicy masala or gravy for roti. The one I often make is the masala to go with rice. Almost once a week, this dish surfaces up in our menu.

How to cook Easy Mushroom Masala...
This is what you need:
1 packet button mushrooms
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 onion chopped finely
1 tomato chopped finely
A pinch of turmeric powder
2 tbsps of red chilli powder
Salt as required
Mustard seeds
Urad dal
Cumin seeds
Pepper corns
Oil as required.

This is what you do:
Soak the mushroom in some warm water for a minute. Chop them into long strips.
Heat some oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds and pepper corns.
Add the ginger garlic paste. I used the readymade paste on instinct. But I would anyday prefer making the paste fresh at home. Sauté it for few minutes
Add the onions and sauté it till they turn translucent.
Now add the mushrooms. Sauté it till the mushrooms start to let out water.
Add the tomatoes and sauté for 2 minutes.
Add the red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
Sauté till the raw smell disappears. Add little water if required.
Mushroom masala is ready to be served.
