I do not cook mutton frequently, as the mutton I get here would not always be tender like how we used to get back in our native. Once in a blue moon, you feel like buying it and cooking. This time I wanted to try the biriyani. Went through many recipes and came up with this. This recipe is a result of wanting to pressure cook the mutton as well as make a dum biriyani. :p
Palakai is usually a substitute for meat for the non vegans who want to turn vegan. It has the flavor of meat. This masala or the kurma made with palakai is so good and almost gives the taste of a meat dish. It is my first time cutting the palakai on my own and making this piratal. Kurma recipe will also be updated soon.
Rava or Sooji is good for kids. This kuska will make a wholesome meal for toddlers who are fussy eaters. Meenu liked it, so all fussy eaters will like this ;) The flavor of this dish is more of the biryani kinds due to the ginger garlic in it. It has got the goodness of ghee and the wholeness of coconut milk which is good for kids. I have tried this based on the recipe by Revathi Shanmugam in this month's aval kitchen.
Any day chicken stew or kozhambu can ease a tired day for me. Just this and hot steaming rice can make a dull day bright. Of course if you keep slurping the stew, you are sure doze heavily after food :-P
