Tangy tomato chutney

Chutneys can always be made in a jiffy. And it goes well with dosa and idli. This is one chutney that we often make at home.






How to cook Tangy tomato chutney...
This is what you need:


A handful of small onions
1 tomato finely chopped
2 pods garlic
4-5 red chilies
Mustard seeds
Urad dal
A pinch of Asafoetida.
A small piece of tamarind
Rock salt as required.
Oil as required


This is what you do:


Heat oil in a pan.
Add the mustard seeds, urad dal and asafoetida. Let them splutter.
Add the rest of the ingredients and saute for 5 minutes.
Cool the mixture and blend it.
Chutney is ready to be served.
