Wheat pockets

Wheat Pockets
Meenu's school had nutrition camp on saturday. They wanted parents to bring a dish made out of whole wheat or wheat flour. I made these wheat pockets kids would love to bite into it.


This is what you need:
1 1/2 cups Wheat flour
1/2 cup Rava
1 tbsp Cumin seeds
Water as required
Mix all the above in a bowl. Mix it into a chapathi dough consistency.


For the filling:
200 gms Paneer cubed
1 cup Peas boiled
2 medium sized Potatoes boiled and mashed
1 Onion chopped finely
2 tbsp Red chilly powder
1 tbsp Dhania powder
Salt as required
Oil

This is what you do:
  • Heat oil in a kadai. 
  • Saute the onions
  • Add the mashed potato and peas and saute them
  • Add turmeric, chilly powder and salt and mix well and saute
  • At the last stage add the paneer cubes and mix well
  • Divide the dough into 10 balls
  • Flatten each ball into a chapathi with the chapathi roller
  • Place some filling in the middle and seal it in half to a half moon shape
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry these pockets till golden brown
  • Serve with sauce
